Hunt Library Microsite

In 2013, NC State University opened the James B. Hunt, Jr. Library, which Time magazine has called “the library of the future.” With cutting-edge large-scale visualization technology, 3D printers, and immersive, collaborative spaces, the library gives NC State a competitive advantage over its peers, and we sought to build a marketing microsite that was equal to the cutting-edge facility itself. Our aim was to create an immersive, sharable, responsive web experience that would give potential faculty and students a sense of the new tool at their disposal.

We’ve made the Hunt Library microsite the destination for several strategic campaigns, driving to it from the university homepage, print and web ads, and a range of social media channels. From its April 1 launch to October 1, the site generated more than 40,000 views, including more than 30,000 views of its centerpiece video.

Our work on the Hunt Library microsite had another unexpected benefit. The site’s theme — “Think and Do” — so clearly communicated NC State’s commitment to innovation, solution-oriented research and scholarship that it has since become the backbone of the university’s new branding campaign.
